Easy Peasy Single Crochet Beanie Adult Size Crochet Pattern

I loved making this hat because it’s simple and it’s a crochet pattern where you can be really creative with your color choices and make this hat truly your own. This hat is worked in a spiral, so I use a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of the round. Materials and Measurements

Yarn Weight: 4 ply, medium worsted weight yarn

Hook Size: G or 4.50mm *

Hat Length: 10 inches (approximately)

Circumference: 18 inches (approximately)

Pattern

Round 1: Make a magic circle, 10 Single crochet stitches in the magic circle. (Pull circle closed.) (10 Single crochet stitches in this round.) (Place a stitch marker in the last stitch of this round.) 

Round 2: 2 Single crochet stitches in each stitch around. (20 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 3: *1 Single crochet stitch in the next stitch, 2 Single crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 30 Single crochet stitches. (30 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 4: 1 Single crochet in each stitch all the way around. (30 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 5:  *1 Single crochet stitch in each of the next two stitches, 2 single crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 40 Single crochet stitches. (40 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 6: *1 Single crochet stitch in each of the next three stitches, 2 Single crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 50 Single crochet stitches. (50 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 7: 1 Single crochet in each stitch all the way around. (50 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 8: *1 Single crochet stitch in each of the next six stitches, 2 single crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 60 Single crochet stitches. (60 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 9: *1 Single crochet stitch in each of the next five stitches, 2 single crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 70 Single crochet stitches. (70 Single crochet stitches in this round.)

Round 10: 1 Single crochet in each stitch all the way around. (70 Single crochet stitches in this round.) (The diameter is approximately 6 inches for the crown of the hat.)

Round 11 – Round 40: 1 Single crochet stitch in each stitch around. (70 Single crochet stitches in this round.) (Approximately 10 inches in height.) (Approximately 18 inches in circumference.)

End: 1 Slip stitch in the last stitch then cut yarn and weave in end.
