Textured Slouchy Beanie Adult Size Crochet Pattern

When creating this textured slouchy beanie I wanted to make a hat which has a  beautiful vibrant texture but could be customized with different colors. This textured slouchy beanie version will be for an adult. This hat is worked in a spiral, so I use a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of the round. Materials and Measurements

Yarn Weight: 4 ply, medium worsted weight yarn

Hook Size: H or 5.00mm

Hat Length: 12 inches (approximately)

Circumference: 22 inches (approximately)

Stitches Used:

  • Magic Circle: Here a great Youtube video on how to do a magic circle.

  • Single Crochet
  • Treble Crochet
  • Slip stitch




Pattern

Round 1:  Make a magic circle, * 1 Treble Crochet in the magic circle, 1 Single Crochet in the magic circle* Repeat * to * until there are 10 stitches in the magic circle. (End with a Single Crochet as the 10th stitch) (10 stitches in this round) (Pull circle closed) (Place a stitch marker at the end of each round to keep track of what round you’re on.)

Round 2:  *1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch* Repeat * to * all around. (End with a Single Crochet) (20 stitches total)

Round 3:  *1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the same stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch* Repeat * to * all around. (End with a Single Crochet) (30 stitches total)

Round 4:  *1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch* Repeat * to * all around. (End with a Single Crochet) (40 stitches total)

Round 5:  *1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the same stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch* Repeat * to * all around. (End with a Single Crochet) (50 stitches total)

Round 6:  *1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the same stitch* Repeat * to * all around. (End with a Single Crochet) (60 stitches total) (6 inches in diameter) (This is the crown of the hat)

Round 7:  *1 Treble Crochet in the next stitch, 1 Single Crochet in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all around. (End with a Single Crochet stitch) (60 stitches total)

Round 8 – Round 30: Repeat Row 7

Slip Stitch in next stitch. Cut yarn and weave in end.
