Felt Like I Was in Wonderland

When reading Meditations in Wonderland by Anna Patrick I felt like I was in Wonderland. You can tell the author knows the narrative of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland which is written by Lewis Carroll. There’s a lot of symbolism throughout the book and I felt immersed in the story.

Characters

I liked all of the characters in the book and I could relate to the certain characteristics of many of them. Many characters from Lewis Carroll’s Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland are also seen in Meditations in Wonderland. Throughout the book you get to know the main character Elizabeth, as she deals with her internal and external struggles.

Plot and Setting

The plot is what I loved about this book the most, as I was always wondering what would happen next. There is a great contrast from our world and Wonderland, but when they merged they combined beautifully.

One of my Favorite Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland Adaptations

I have read a number of Alice’s Adventures in Wonderland adaptations and this is one of my favorites. If you are an Alice in Wonderland fan I do think you will enjoy this book. The writing has a dream like style which went wonderful with the themes in this book. There is even a Readers Guide and an interview with the author, where the reader can know of why Anna wrote the book. Thank you so much Anna Patrick for sending me a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I can’t wait to read more books by you.

Favorite Quote from Meditations in Wonderland

“If you want to know where you’re going, it won’t help you to look back and worry. You must look forward!” (Patrick, pg.92)
