I loved making this hat because it’s simple and it’s a crochet pattern where you can be really creative with your color choices and make this hat truly your own. This hat is worked in a spiral, so I use a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of the round. Materials and Measurements
Yarn Weight: 4 ply, medium worsted weight yarn
Hat Length: 9.5 inches (approximately)
Circumference: 21 inches (approximately)

- Single Crochet
- Slip stitch
Pattern
Round 1: Make a magic circle, 10 double crochet stitches in the magic circle. (Pull circle closed.) (10 Double crochet stitches in this round.) (Place a stitch marker in the last stitch of this round.)
Round 2: 2 Double crochet stitches in each stitch around. (20 Double crochet stitches in this round.)
Round 3: *1 Double crochet stitch in the next stitch, 2 double crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 30 double crochet stitches. (30 Double crochet stitches in this round.)
Round 4: *1 Double crochet stitch in each of the next two stitches, 2 double crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 40 double crochet stitches. (40 Double crochet stitches in this round.)
Round 5: *1 Double crochet stitch in each of the next three stitches, 2 double crochet stitches in the next stitch* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 50 double crochet stitches. (50 Double crochet stitches in this round.) (The diameter is approximately 6 inches for the crown of the hat.)
Round 6 – Round 16: 1 Double crochet stitch in each stitch around. (50 Double crochet stitches in this round.)
Round 17: 1 Single crochet stitch in each stitch around. (50 Single crochet stitches in this round.) (Approximately 9.50 inches in height.) (Approximately 21 inches in circumference.)
End: 1 Slip stitch in the last stitch then cut yarn and weave in end.
