When creating this puff stitch slouchy beanie I wanted to make a hat which has a beautiful texture but can be customized with all different colors. This puff stitch slouchy beanie version will be for an adult. This hat is worked in a spiral, so I use a stitch marker to mark the last stitch of the round. Let me know in the comment’s below or message me on Instagram if you want the pattern in a different size.

Hi, I would love to make this but the person I am making this for has a slightly larger head, what would you recommend I do?
What I would recommend you do is add another increase round. Here’s what I would recommend you do:
Round 7: *1 puff stitch in the next five chain 1 spaces, 2 puff stitches in each chain 1 space* Repeat * to * all the way around for a total of 36 puff stitches. (42 puff stitches in this round)
Then you would just repeat the rest of the pattern as written. Please let me know if this helps. 😀
Thank you so much!
You’re welcome. Please, let me know how it turns out.
I would like to make a toddler size of this so I can make matching mother/daughter hats. Do you have a pattern for a toddler using the same yarn as the adult?
I don’t but I will definitely make one. I reply back to your comment once it’s finished
Here is the pattern for the Puff Stitch Slouchy Beanie Toddler Size https://kirstenjonorarenfroe.com/puff-stitch-slouchy-beanie-toddler-size-crochet-pattern/
Thank you so much for sharing my pattern on your blog. This means so much to me.
Hi, I’ve almost completed the project but have no idea if I slip stitched the two edges of the brim correctly and then how to the the final row of slip stitches, is it possible for more of a description? I would really appreciate it. Thank you.
Hi Jennifer. When slip stitching the edge of the hat together I just do it so that there’s a gap in the brim. Also for the final row of slip stitches you would just do slip stitches all the way around the bottom of the hat from where you closed the gap in the brim. This is actually optional since I like a tighter fit in my hats. I hope this helps. Please let me know if you have any questions.
