Book Review

I loved reading Take Me To The Cabin which is the second book in the Mountain Men of Whiskey River series by Kaci Rose. I loved how you got to see the daily lives of Jenna and Phoenix. From their first interactions and to the epilogue. We also get to see Jenna and Phoenix living their separate lives and the battles that they are both facing.

As a reader, it was wonderful to see how they weren’t this perfect couple and their flaws were something they had to discuss and work through. I also loved the way in which the mountain setting was actually not just shown as a setting. Whiskey River is an essential part of the story and without all of those details of the mountain life, the characters and their stories wouldn’t be possible. When reading this wonderful book I could imagine all the little details of the town. For instance, the store where Phoenix and people in the town share their handcraft items. For Phoenix, this is furniture that he makes in the garage attached to his cabin. This is how Jenna and Pheonix and their relationship grew in a realistic way as they both have to trust each other and even getting to know themselves and arriving at Whiskey River is aiding them to be who they are.

I also loved reading Take Me To The River which is the first book in this series and I’m so glad I was able to read Take Me To The Cabin. Both of the books, Take Me To the Cabin and Take Me To The River are truly companions of each other. I recommend this book for people who like books that take place in the mountains. This book has some steamy scenes in it, but they do add more character development to the story. I can’t wait to read the other books in this series.
